2023 Salish Sea Butoh Festival
Welcome Butoh Family New and Old
Salish Sea Butoh invites you to join us for 8 days of dance immersion on the northeastern tip of the Olympic Peninsula! For this special event, we bring together a diverse array of intergenerational Butoh teachers to facilitate multiple day-long workshops and dynamic Butoh experiences both indoors and outdoors in nature! In celebration of the Pacific Northwest’s unique landscapes and beautiful moss-covered forests, workshop attendees will have the option to stay at a local organic farm campground, sharing communal meals and feedback circles around the bonfire after a full day of Butoh training in a gorgeous forested environment.
Over the Past two years of this incredible event we have taken the time to grow and change in the face of an ever shifting and dynamic world. For those of you who have joined us before, you may notice some specific changes in our workshop schedule. We hope that increasing the amount of free time throughout the week will allow us to create more connection with each other and foster a sense of community. This journey we embark on together requires us to feel resourced and we hope our schedule reflects a creative container that prioritizes experimentation, connection, and rest.
